HYDRO HOSE REPAIR S.O.P.

                                                                                                                                    

CAUTION SHOULD BE USED TO ENSURE THAT THE INNER HOSE

COLOR MATCHES THE DIES AND THE FITTING OR MENDER

 

  1. Park the vehicle in desired location with the P.T.O. engaged. (refer to vehicle S.O.P.)

  2. Pay out hose until the damaged section is laid out on the ground behind the vehicle.

  3. Install the spool jack on the fork lift forks.

 

 

4.  Tighten the spool jack set screws and secure the safety chain to the

5.   Lay the hose spool on its side and pass the 2” pipe through the center.

  

 

 6.   Load the hose spool onto the spool jack.

7.   Remove the damaged section of hose using either the hand saw or PVC pipe cutter

 

 

  

8.   Measure the distance from the end of the hose to the fitting center or mender end and mark.

 

 

 

 

 

 

9.   Insert the hose into the fitting or mender until the mark made in step 8 lines up with the end of the fitting. (repeat as needed.)

 

 

 

 

10. Place the hose in the swage machine along with the proper dies and/or pusher.

 

  

 

 

11. Position the dies so that their splits are away from the openings.

 

 

 

 

 

  

12. Close the pressure relief valve on the jack and begin pumping the jack handle.

13. Continue to pump until the dies are drawn together to within 1/16” of each other.

14. Open the pressure relief valve on the jack and allow the swage machine to fullyopen.

15. Remove the hose from the swage machine and tap the dies lightly to remove them from the fitting or mender.

16. Inspect the fitting or mender; the swage should be uniform with the end bulge kept to a minimum.

17. Re-spool on the hydro hose reel, the desired amount of new hose.

18. Repeat the swaging process of fitting or mender as needed.
